In
fact, during the first couple of decades in the 20th century, this
palace was still used as the royal residence of the Sultan with his
commoner consort, Hajah Safiah. And though, since 1903 when he was
officially enthroned and resided in Klang, he always attended the Friday
prayers at the Bandar Mosque. So, obviously until the completion of
Ar-Rahmah Mosque in Klang (Kampung Jawa), around 1939, his highness
regularly visited Bandar Temasya, held the prayers there, besides
meeting his wife in Bandar palace. Only after his highness passed away
in 1938 was the palace left unoccupied until now.
In
short, based on this very Bandar Palace building is the single most
solid evidence to show that Bandar Temasya is very well-known at least
up to the first three decade of the 20th century. This is certainly
fascinating. A matter that needs mentioning is the origins of the
opening of Bandar Temasya by Sultan Abdul Samad actually opened the way
to the glory of this place.
